Pics from Krakow
On Sunday May 14th, 2006,
Brent, Bob D'eith and I went to Krakow for our two days off in Warsaw.
Krakow is a little jewel of a city. Un fortunately it rained on the Sunday when we got in. An evening in the town sqaure is like no other experience. There's always a ton of street entertainment and so many sidewalk cafe/bars to choose from to enjoy the entertainment and people watch.
On the Monday Bob and I went to Auschwitz, Birkenau and The Salt Mines.
Auschwitz and Birkenau are incredibly sobering. The Salt Mine is one of the wonders of the world..
.

The rain was a bit of a drag because the street entertainmeant left, and that's really on eof the cool parts of the Krakow experience.

These pics were taken in the downtown square at night. Not too many people around - once again - due to the rain.

Caught a pretty good little band on our last pit stop before bedtime.

The next few shots are of the castle in Krakow...

Shot looking up the atrium at the Sheraton Krakow where we stayed...very nice place.

We did get a little entertainment before the rain came in - this person was hilarious...made fun of anything that moved. Language is no barrier here...

Inside the church...it is breathtaking..

Brent and I hanging at an outdoor cafe in the square

Great 'hair shot' of Brent...

The church in the square. This is the church where Pope John Paul was before becoming Pope. The whole country was in mourning for weeks when he died...

Bob D'Eith in the square...

View of the castle from outside out hotel room window...
