Camping in Penticton

Well - touting it as a science experiment, I ventured off last week into uncharted waters...yes - Mick went camping...

How it started was, my high school buddy, Mark Middaugh (who also happens to be my sister-in-law's brother) had said that he was coming out to the coast from Calgary (where he now lives) with his son to visit me and that they were tenting along the way.

Thinking I could give his drive a break on the way and thinking that this was something I could try, I suggested Penticton to him. It's roughly about half way.

I had heard of a campground on the lake there, and with some research ** found the place and gave him directions to join me.

I accumulated some gear from friends **, bought some stuff - and I was off on a new adventure.
We had a great time - and hooked up with some new people and their kids. As we were sitting talking one afternoon, who should come by but my friend Jamie Meyer who was also here with some family and his daughter.

I had to leave to play Thursday through Saturday with Cease and Desist (Saturday's gig was when this cartoon was drawn) and then Sunday for an ill-fated gig with Randy Bachman. Since Jamie and my other new friends were still here (Mark went home Sunday morning from my place), I came back to hang some more...

It's interesting for me to relax...but alas, I discovered the campground is wireless, so here I sit again...

Oh - about my face? Getting more 'normal' everyday - I figure that in a month it will have settled into itself, and I will post new pictures then...

Have a great day all...
